چکیده
We discuss a Kohn-Luttinger-like mechanism for superconductivity in Bernal bilayer graphene and rhombohedral trilayer graphene. Working within the continuum model description, we find that screened long-range Coulomb interaction alone gives rise to with critical temperatures agree experiments. observe order parameter changes sign between valleys, which implies both materials are valley-singlet, spin-triplet superconductors. Adding Ising spin-orbit coupling leads significant enhancement temperature, also line experiment, superconducting shows locking spin valley degrees of freedom.

Spin–orbit coupling in a graphene bilayer and in graphite
The intrinsic spin–orbit interactions in bilayer graphene and in graphite are studied, using a tight binding model and an intra-atomic E LE S coupling. The spin–orbit interactions in bilayer graphene and graphite are larger, by about one order of magnitude, than the interactions in single-layer graphene, due to the mixing of π and σ bands by interlayer hopping. Their values are in the range 0.1...
متن کاملSpin-orbit interaction and isotropic electronic transport in graphene.
Broken symmetries in graphene affect the massless nature of its charge carriers. We present an analysis of scattering by defects in graphene in the presence of spin-orbit interactions (SOIs). A characteristic constant ratio (≃2) of the transport to elastic times for massless electrons signals the anisotropy of the scattering. We show that SOIs lead to a drastic decrease of this ratio, especiall...
متن کاملSpin-orbit-coupled superconductivity
Superconductivity and spin-orbit (SO) interaction have been two separate emerging fields until very recently that the correlation between them seemed to be observed. However, previous experiments concerning SO coupling are performed far beyond the superconducting state and thus a direct demonstration of how SO coupling affects superconductivity remains elusive. Here we investigate the SO coupli...
متن کاملLocalized magnetic states in biased bilayer and trilayer graphene.
We study the localized magnetic states of an impurity in biased bilayer and trilayer graphene. It is found that the magnetic boundary for bilayer and trilayer graphene shows mixed features of Dirac and conventional fermions. For zero gate bias, as the impurity energy approaches the Dirac point, the impurity magnetization region diminishes for bilayer and trilayer graphene. When a gate bias is a...
متن کاملElectron-electron and spin-orbit interactions in armchair graphene ribbons.
The effects of intrinsic spin-orbit and Coulomb interactions on low-energy properties of finite width graphene armchair ribbons are studied by means of a Dirac Hamiltonian. It is shown that metallic states subsist in the presence of intrinsic spin-orbit interactions as spin-filtered edge states, in contrast with the insulating behavior predicted for graphene planes. A charge-gap opens due to Co...
